instruNet Data Acquisition System
GW Instruments has developed the instruNet data acquisition system, a miniature card cage for both data acquisition and control applications. The instruNet family of products includes card cages (4 to 16 slots), various wiring boxes, and a number of low-cost, high accuracy plug-in modules. instruNet is an excellent data acquisition system when your application involves low level measurements with sensors such as thermocouples, strain gages, or load cells. By utilizing the card cage system, you can mix and match the plug-in cards to meet your application requirements at a lower cost compared to other chassis systems. instruNet also manages the analog to digital conversion on a separate module, and routes the conditioned analog signal to the A/D module over the backplane. This also keeps costs lower than other systems that have A/D electronics associated with each module.

The i600/i601 USB data acquisition devices connect a Windows PC to sensors and other controls through analog or digital inputs as well as digital outputs. These devices are extremely accurate, small, and are completely stand-alone – no external power supply or other components are required.
The i601 model has +/- 36V bank electrical isolation, while the i600 connects I/O signal ground to computer ground. You can view all of the specifications on the i60x product page.
instruNet software communicates with common platforms
instruNet includes software that handles all tasks associated with the sensor channels. This application program is called "instruNet World" and interfaces to LabVIEW, DASYLab, C/C++, Visual BASIC, as well as direct file exporting to Microsoft Excel.
