Software/Firmware Developer

As a Software/Firmware Developer your primary responsibilities will include writing new and modifying existing software and firmware applications for Dycor’s data acquisition and information multiplexing products. Additionally, you will develop custom applications to meet unique customer requirements, assist with hardware design and product prototyping, and produce technical and user documentation.

Your qualifications will include a Computer Engineering Technology Diploma, a Computer Engineering or Science Degree, or an equivalent level of education. Ideally, you will have experience with various software tools including C, Assembler, and LABVIEW, as well as experience in Linux and all Windows operating environments. You will also have knowledge and/or experience with embedded systems and have hands-on hardware experience. Experience with Microchip’s PIC based microcontrollers and ARM based microcontrollers would be an asset.

Systems Design Engineer

In this position you will take technical ownership for leading the design and delivery of electronics and/or aerosol related systems. This is accomplished by participating in a multidisciplinary team consisting of electronics, mechanical, software, and microbiology/aerosol science specialists. Tasks include analysis of customer needs, development of system level specifications, development and review of system and subsystem level designs, generating and implementing test plans, interfacing with customers and vendors. Some travel will be required.

Your qualifications include a post secondary degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years experience in product development; in-depth understanding of electronics, mechanical, and software integration; and good knowledge of military and industrial specifications, standards, and practices.

Electronics Design Engineer/Technologist

Your responsibilities include the design, layout, prototyping, assembly, and repair of electronic instruments for both laboratory and field/industrial environments. Your documentation skills will be important in the development of design documents as well as supporting the development of user and technical maintenance manuals. Based on your skill and experience level, you may also be involved in project management activities and liaising with customers.

 You will have a post secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, or an equivalent program and you will have experience in the design and layout of electronic instruments. Firmware/software development on embedded systems would be a definite asset.

Electronics Assembly Technician

As an Electronics Assembly Technician, your responsibilities include the assembly of electronic instruments for both laboratory and field/industrial environments. Tasks include soldering, populating printed circuit boards, building wiring harnesses, and assembling off-the-shelf components into custom instruments. You will also troubleshoot using schematics and PCB layout diagrams, and you will document your assembly procedures for future reference and for use by other assembly staff.

You will have a certificate or diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, or an equivalent program and you will have experience in the assembly and troubleshooting of electronic instruments, including PCB population and soldering.

Projects Coordinator

You will coordinate the allocation of resources on a number of customer and internal projects. Your role will include maintaining and updating project schedules, determining critical paths on various projects and ensuring that appropriate resources are available, allocating human and equipment resources to projects based on feedback from Project Managers, and coordinating regular meetings with Project Managers.

Ideally your qualifications will include a post secondary degree or diploma in a technical area of study such as Electronic, Computer, Networking, or Mechanical Technology, with experience in a related technical field including project coordination or management. Experience with project scheduling software is also a requirement. PMP or CAPM certification from PMI is a definite asset.

Technical Purchaser

As a Technical Purchaser, your responsibilities include bill-of-material procurement for off-the-shelf and custom electronic and mechanical components, expediting delivery of materials as needed, negotiating agreements with suppliers, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and supporting on-going business systems improvements.

A Certificate in Purchasing from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC), or an equivalent program is required and you will have experience in a technical purchasing environment.
